Breathe Gurugram – Let’s Clear the Air

Gurugram is choking under the weight of its own progress. Rapid construction, increasing vehicle ownership, and vanishing green cover have made it one of India’s most polluted cities. With AQI often crossing 400, the city faces a silent but deadly air crisis. Children breathe toxic air on their way to school, elderly citizens suffer from chronic illnesses, and daily life is punctuated by smog and dust. While the problem seems overwhelming, the solution lies in targeted action: creating micro forests, controlling construction dust, transforming rooftops into gardens, and promoting clean mobility. This is what 'Breathe Gurugram' aims to achieve—through partnerships, people power, and proven green innovation.

The vision of Breathe Gurugram is to turn Gurugram into India’s first citizen-led clean air model—where every colony, school, and office actively contributes to reducing the city’s AQI. We’re not just planting trees—we’re planting a future where every breath is safe.

To achieve this, the campaign implements five proven strategies:

1. Urban Miyawaki Forests – We convert dusty barren lands into lush micro-forests that grow 10x faster and absorb significantly more pollutants. These forests not only clean the air but also restore biodiversity in the urban landscape.

2. Construction Dust Control – Construction contributes to over 30% of Gurugram’s air pollution. By deploying mist cannons, barricades, and green mesh at sites, we reduce dust spread and protect nearby residential zones.

3. Real-Time AQI Monitoring – We install digital AQI sensors outside schools, hospitals, and markets so residents are informed and empowered. Visibility of air quality builds pressure for local improvement and community participation.

4. Clean Mobility Solutions – From incentivizing corporate EV fleets to carpooling apps and school bus pooling, we offer practical steps to reduce vehicular emissions. Less congestion, cleaner air.

5. Green Rooftop Campaigns – Offices and schools are encouraged to turn unused rooftops into green breathing spaces. We partner with local nurseries and CSR sponsors to support these transformations.

What makes this approach powerful is its scalability and public-private alignment. Corporates, RWAs, schools, and the government each have a defined role.

In just 9 months, our pilot in Sector 56 achieved a 22% drop in AQI, 10,000+ trees were planted citywide with a survival rate of over 90%, and 5 CSR teams came forward to adopt green projects. This is not just a one-time campaign—it’s a living movement that evolves with every new tree planted and every rooftop garden grown.

Let’s unite to Breathe Gurugram back to life. Because clean air is not a privilege—it’s a right.
