Problem
Gurugram generates between 1,100 and 1,600 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily, but only 20–25% is treated; most of it piles up at the Bandhwari landfill—now a towering 37-meter-high garbage mountain leaking waste into the ecologically sensitive Aravallis.
📍 Where Is It Happening?
Bandhwari Landfill spans 30+ acres near the Aravalli Biodiversity Zone.
Overflow and waste overspill is visible along the Gurgaon–Faridabad Road, Sirhaul village, and parts of Udyog Vihar.
