municipal solid waste generated in Gurugram

Problem

Gurugram generates between 1,100 and 1,600 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily, but only 20–25% is treated; most of it piles up at the Bandhwari landfill—now a towering 37-meter-high garbage mountain leaking waste into the ecologically sensitive Aravallis.

📍 Where Is It Happening?

  • Bandhwari Landfill spans 30+ acres near the Aravalli Biodiversity Zone.

  • Overflow and waste overspill is visible along the Gurgaon–Faridabad Road, Sirhaul village, and parts of Udyog Vihar.

Ways to Build a Waste-Free Gurugram

Gurugram generates over 1,000 tonnes of waste every day — and most of it ends up in landfills. But we can rewrite that story. Whether you're a resident, school, or business, here's how you can help:

  • ♻️ Join community clean-up drives in parks, roads, and markets.

  • 🧃 Set up plastic exchange or eco-points in schools, RWAs, and offices.

  • 🛍️ Switch to zero-waste kits and sustainable gifting solutions.

  • 🗑️ Host segregation workshops for maids, staff, and neighbors.

  • 🏠 Start home composting with our DIY kits and expert sessions.

Clean cities aren’t built by systems alone — they’re built by people. Start with your lane.
