As Gurugram becomes smarter, its people are becoming more vulnerable to cyber threats. OTP frauds, phishing links, job scams, and fake digital ads target everyone—from senior citizens to schoolchildren. With rising smartphone use and low digital literacy, the danger is only growing. But the solution isn’t just better tech—it’s better awareness. Cyber Safe Gurugram is a citywide digital safety mission that combines school cyber clubs, senior marshal programs, office toolkits, and viral WhatsApp campaigns to build confidence and vigilance in every citizen. This is India’s first scalable cyber hygiene model rooted in community empowerment and CSR.
Digital fraud is the new street crime—and it’s spreading fast. Gurugram sees thousands of cases each year: OTP scams, hacked accounts, fake job offers, and social engineering attacks. What makes it worse is that victims often don’t report or don’t even realize they’ve been targeted.
Cyber Safe Gurugram changes that by building a safety net at every level of society:
1. Cyber Clubs in Schools – Peer-led clubs where students are trained to detect phishing, identify fake links, and report scams. These clubs run quizzes, poster campaigns, and peer workshops.
2. Senior Cyber Marshals – Retired professionals and volunteers trained to guide senior citizens in parks, temples, and RWAs—ensuring the elderly don’t fall prey to WhatsApp forwards or fraud calls.
3. 1930 Helpline Drives – Public campaigns using radio, memes, reels, and banners to promote India's national cybercrime helpline.
4. Corporate Cyber Toolkits – Offices enroll their staff in digital hygiene workshops, simulate attacks, and receive monthly checklists as part of CSR.
5. WhatsApp Safety Series – A locally curated content bank of forwardable safety tips, regional case studies, and scam survivor videos.
The initiative has already reached over 1 lakh students across 300 schools and trained 50,000 senior citizens through RWA partnerships. Endorsed by I4C (MHA) and Gurugram Police, Cyber Safe Gurugram is built on the idea that digital security is not just about protecting data—it’s about protecting people.
