Women Safe Gurugram – A City Where Women Lead Fearlessly

For many women in Gurugram, a simple walk home after dark can feel like a risk. Despite the city’s modern infrastructure, street harassment, poor lighting, and unmonitored public spaces create fear and silence. Safe Gurugram changes this reality. It’s a women-led, tech-supported movement that transforms unsafe zones into monitored, community-owned safety corridors. From Shero Circle volunteers to CCTV-powered safe zones and school workshops, the initiative blends trust with tech to make every street safer. Because a city isn’t safe until its women feel free in it.
True urban development isn’t just measured in buildings—it’s measured in how safe a city feels to its most vulnerable. In Gurugram, too many women still avoid walking alone, avoid public transport, or remain silent about daily harassment.
Safe Gurugram is designed to change that. This initiative builds safety into the city’s infrastructure and into its social culture:
1. Shero Circles – Trained women volunteers patrol parks, streets, and markets. They offer help, raise alerts, and serve as first responders for anyone in distress.
2. CCTV and Lighting Upgrades – Dark zones near metro exits, bus stops, and markets are lit and monitored, creating visibility and accountability.
3. Adopt-a-Street Model – Corporates can fund the transformation of key public zones into safety corridors with signage, surveillance, and alert systems.
4. Workshops in Schools & Offices – These include role-play on harassment, training on bystander intervention, and awareness about the 1091 women’s helpline.
5. Community Feedback Loops – Citizens can vote safe/unsafe areas via a digital dashboard, helping map priority zones in real time.
The pilot phase has already trained 500+ Shero volunteers and seen a 35% drop in harassment reports in targeted areas. Supported by the Department of Women & Child Development and local police stations, Safe Gurugram ensures every woman not only feels safe—but is safe.
Let’s create a city where no one walks in fear. A city where safety is not a luxury, but a guarantee. Join the movement to make Gurugram truly safe—for everyone.
